Prayer vs. Action
Some friends tell me they intend to continue writing letters to their Congressmen and letters to the editor, and joining protest groups, voting against the incumbents, and demonstrating when and where it’s appropriate. Of course! These actions should not be discounted or discontinued. We should make our voices heard in every way possible.
It is the power of God though, that hardens our hearts, or softens them, a process that can be done instantly. We don’t need to wait for the next election, or enough letters to be written, or a Congressional Committee to act. If enough voices are raised in prayer we could see results the same day. Let’s put our Faith in God as an act rather than in words, an act of prayer, and watch for the results.
Have you prayed for our country today? Have you prayed today for the wickedness in high places to be corrected? Have you prayed for productivity to be recognized and rewarded instead of punished today? It’s within God’s power to do those things. Let’s raise our voices in prayer and ask that they be done.
