Mixed results for Obama's first Moscow summit
"For two days, President Barack Obama pressed the reset button with Russia. The results: He ended up getting the expected agreement on deep cuts in nuclear arsenals, but he is leaving Moscow with few assurances of Kremlin help in solving other issues key to his foreign policy agenda.He is also leaving behind a spark he hopes will blaze to life and thaw U.S. relations with a former superpower with a chip on its shoulder. But his two days of summitry produced no unexpected breakthroughs.
Throughout the meetings and speeches, Obama stayed on message: The United States and Russia have too many overlapping interests to move through the coming decades at odds. The time for confrontational Cold War thinking is well-past. America wants Russia to be "strong, peaceful and prosperous." by Yahoo News.I asked Shadd what he thought of this. He thought, and thought and well thought some more. Then he said, " Remember Europe before WWII. Chamberlain kept traveling to Germany and never did anything but appease Hitler. I think you can only apologize so many times until every one realizes you can bow so low that they're going to step on your back. If any one is following the current day prophets, that understand biblical and world history they know that Russia may be a key player in what is happening in the Mideast. They want to take over Georgia because it will give them direct access to Baghdad. They want Baghdad because it will help finalize the alliance that will go against Israel in the first war. Do you just wonder why Obama has made these trips to that area and has never gone to Jerusalem? I think we need to offer a prayer here for our leaders and the leaders in the rest of the world.
God gives us directive to pray for all men, including Kings of the world, in 1Timothy 2:1-4. It goes as follows;
"Therefore I exhort first all that supplications, prayer, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,
For kings, and all who are in authority, that we may
lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness
and reverence.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of
God our Savior,
Who desires all men to be saved and to come to
the knowledge of the truth."
Thanks to Patsy Cameneti for the above scripture.
